In October, the John and Mable Ringling Museum hosts an International Arts Festival. This six-day cultural event with music, dance, theater and visual arts is presented on Ringling’s beautiful 66-acre grounds along Sarasota Bay!
Also held in the fall, Sarasota’s Chalk Festival is the first to the U.S. attracting International street artists dazzling on-lookers with three dimensional illusions that pop from the pavement.
Sarasota’s waterfront is the backdrop for our “Season of Sculpture” where global artists are reviewed and invited to join a select group each fall for a six month installation.
The Ringling Museum of Art has a massive collection of Rubens and a very important structural piece called… Skyspace by artist James Turrell.
The Asolo multi-theatre complex is on the Ringling campus and is home to one of the leading regional theatrical companies. The stages provide a season of classic and modern drama including year round performances by the Florida State University’s graduate theatre program.
The Sarasota Ballet of Florida offers seven performances from September through April while the Sarasota Orchestra and Sarasota Opera present their Winter Festival with four fully staged operas from February through March.
